Shahed Murad’s mission statement as a health researcher

To enable excellence in biomedical research and act as a driving force to accelerate, facilitate, and increase the discovery, development, and dissemination of biomedical innovations that improve health and quality of life.

Shahed Murad has worked as a Biostatistician at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research Bangladesh and in the UK at Birkbeck College, Kings College, Imperial College and University College London (UCL).  His main health areas of research are Infectious Diseases and Mental Health.  A highlight of his work is the original and creative analysis of two complex longitudinal data sets and two randomised clinical trials in the fields of cancer, learning disability and depression. His most recent work has culminated in a paper accepted by the Archives of General Psychiatry and one by the American Journal of Psychiatry – the two highest rated journals in Mental Health in the world.
